CONGRATULATIONS to Alex Holt and Charlotte Scully getting on the front page of your paper to highlight their hopes to keep Unsworth library open.
Their campaign seems to show how the proposed cuts to local authorities are impacting on children and their families.
Nationally, cuts are happening to children’s centres, libraries, Connexions, youth services, housing, leisure services, and many others.
Many of these cuts will have a misappropriate effect on children and the poorest members of society.
I thought we were supposed to be all in this together. Most people agree the present financial crisis was caused by the banks, it seems wrong to let children suffer for bankers’ greed.
What is our MP going to do to protect our vital public services?
