IT is about time that Bury Council took notice of the very serious concerns highlighted by the children of Tottington Primary School, who are unhappy about the level of dog fouling on our streets.
Not only does dog fouling make our streets look unpleasant, but it presents a very real human health risk with small children in particular danger. Too often we have heard of toddlers losing their sight due to toxocariasis found in dog mess.
Most dog owners are responsible and clean up after their pets, however, it only takes a small number of irresponsible dog owners to ruin our streets and play parks for everyone else.
Bury Council must take more decisive action against irresponsible dog owners.
