JACK METCALFE On 26th March 2021, Jack aged 78 years old of Greenmount, Bury peacefully passed away in hospital surrounded by his loving family. The dearly beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved dad of Lynda and Julie, loving father-in-law of David and Alan, a devoted grandad of Jonathon, Philip, Chloe, Cameron and Lois and great grandad of Poppy and Lucia. The funeral service will take place at Greenmount United Reformed Church on Wednesday 14 April at 11.30am followed by committal at The East Lancashire Crematorium, Radcliffe. Due to current restrictions, attendance at the service will be by invitation only. Donations are being received in lieu of flowers for the benefit of Bury Hospice. Simon often bumped into Jack at Bury football club where they were both members.
Jack will be sorely missed. Kindest wishes to all his family.

He will be greatly missed by all.

I can still remember how that music
Used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step

When I read about his widowed bride
Something touched me deep inside

So, bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die"
A very much loved grandad is now with a very much loved grandma! Together forever and always remembered! Dancing and singing American pie at the beach and eating as many tuna sandwiches as they want. Stay strong tough cookies!
