We were both at Bury High School and then when it moved to The Derby School. We were close friends. For a couple of years when we were all around 15, he hosted Sunday night get togethers at his parent's house in Greenhill Road, for our 'gang' in the school class at the time. Once we were in big trouble at The Derby School, and had had six of the best in the up in Tower. We decided to take the afternoon off and both went to Manchester to join the Royal Marines. Because we weren't with our parents our applications fizzled out. Often wonder what would have happened to us if we had joined up. Haven't see Malc since around 1986. The last time I saw him was when he showed up one evening at our house in Haslingden with Pete Smith and we all finished up in Clitheroe for a night out. We were close friends at school, and for a few years after that. Malc bought a tipper wagon from John Kays builders merchants and we worked on the building of the M62 till the money ran out, Lots more. He was a character. Rest in Peace. "Malc"
