ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A56 TRUNK ROAD (SLIP ROADS - ACCRINGTON BYPASS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A56 Trunk Road, in the Boroughs of Hyndburn and Burnley, in the County of Lancashire, to enable barrier works, carriageway repairs and other general maintenance to be carried out in safety. The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the A56 Trunk Road:
i. the A56 northbound exit slip road to the A679;
ii. the A56 southbound entry slip road from theA679.
The prohibitions are expected to be in place overnight between 20:00 and 05:00 (07:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Friday 3 September 2021 and ending on Monday 27 September 2021. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A56 and A679 Trunk Roads and M65 Motorway will be well signed. The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer or winter maintenance vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
