(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hambleton District Council proposes to make an Order in exercise of its powers under Section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004. The effect of the Order is intended to introduce powers to manage parking in the Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre car park ("Parking Place"). The intended area of the Parking Place is described on a plan annexed to the proposed Order. It is intended to introduce prescribed hours of parking between the period of 0700 hours to 2200 hours Monday to Friday and 0800 hours to 1400 hours on Saturday and Sunday. It is intended that during the prescribed hours the period of waiting be limited to three hours and that on expiry of the waiting period a no return period of two hours shall apply. It is intended that use of the Parking Place shall remain free from payment of a charge. It is intended that during the prescribed hours car park users shall evidence their use of the Parking Place by exhibiting a valid ticket, permit, season ticket or have a current parking session obtained via an electronic parking system. It is intended that ticket machines shall be provided in the Parking Place and shall issue parking tickets indicating the date and time by which a vehicle must leave the Parking Place. Full details are contained in the proposed Order and the Statement of Reasons which can be inspected at the Council Offices, Civic Centre, Stone Cross, Rotary Way, Northallerton during normal opening hours until 4th January, 2022 or on the Councils Website at
