THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (LAND ADJACENT TO KAY STREET BRIDGE, SUMMERSEAT) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2018 COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND AND NEW RIGHTS IN SUMMERSEAT, BURY Notice is hereby given that the Metropolitan Borough of Bury has made the Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Land adjacent to Kay Street Bridge, Summerseat) Compulsory Purchase Order 2018 under sections 239, 240 and 250 of the Highways Act 1980. It is about to submit this order to Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorise the Metropolitan Borough of Bury to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights described below for the purpose of the repair and improvement of the highway at Kay Street Bridge in Summerseat including widening of the highway on the upstream side of the bridge in order to provide a segregated single carriageway and pedestrian footway and construction of a parapet wall.

Notice is hereby given that the Metropolitan Borough of Bury has made the Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Land adjacent to Kay Street Bridge, Summerseat) Compulsory Purchase Order 2018 under sections 239, 240 and 250 of the Highways Act 1980. A copy of the order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at the Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW or requested by emailing Legal.Services@burv.gov.uk

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Department for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@.dft. gsi.gov.uk before 27 July 2018 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector's address and interests in the land.

In submitting an objection it should be noted that your personal data and correspondence will be passed to Bury Council to enable your objection to be considered. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state your reasons when submitting your objection and the Secretary of State will copy your representations, with your name and address removed to the Council, and if there is to be a Public Local Inquiry they will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AND THE NEW RIGHTS

? 157 square metres of land comprising 125 square metres of river bed, banking and the existing river pier immediately to the east of and abutting Kay Street Bridge and 20 square metres of tarmac hard standing immediately to the south of the area described above and directly adjacent to Kay Street, Summerseat together with 12 square metres of land immediately to the north of the river comprising an area that was formerly the northern elevation of the Waterside Inn.



? 85 square metres of land to the north and east of Waterside Road and immediately to the north of Kay Street Bridge comprising a, paved and cobble stoned area. The low stone wall forming the southern perimeter of The Spinnings landscaped area provides the boundary to the subject area of land.



? In respect of 200 square metres of land comprising river bed and the air space above immediately to the east of the area described in 1, an area of banking immediately to the north of the river and an area of banking and hardstanding immediately to the south of the river, the right for the acquiring authority and all persons authorised on its behalf to enter the areas for the purpose of constructing and thereafter maintaining and repairing Kay Street bridge and the parapet wall to be constructed to the north of the river.



? In respect of 48 square metres of land comprising hardstanding immediately to the north of the river, the right for the acquiring authority and all other persons authorised on its behalf to enter the area for the purpose of constructing and thereafter maintaining and repairing Kay Street bridge and the parapet wall to be constructed to the north of the river.
