Coronation Street and Dancing on Ice 2021 runner up Faye Brookes went up against Hollyoaks veteran and Jazmine Franks at Bury pizza venue recently.
They went head to head at Fireaway Pizza on Bolton Road in Bury to find out who can make the most authentic Italian slice.
Bury-born Hollyoaks actress Jazmine Franks put up a good fight in the kitchen but Faye Brookes was crowned the champion pizza maker - decided by the restaurants very own team of professional pizza chefs.
Faye opted for a veggie heavy slice with a tomato base, mushrooms, spinach, mixed peppers, a double helping of grated cheese, drizzled in pesto and fiery oil and finished with salt and pepper seasoning.
Jazmine’s mighty meat mix up was lined with a BBQ base, a boat load of pepperoni, a grated four cheese mix, spicy beef and mixed peppers with a garlic oil drizzled over the top for good measure.
Faye and Jazmine joined forces to help promote Fireaway Pizza Bury’s latest initiative, showing the public that fast food doesn’t have to mean unhealthy food.
The restaurant offers a ton of healthy pizza options and customers are able to completely customise their pizza experience with the freshest ingredients, putting them in complete control every time.
All of Fireaway Bury’s ingredients are top quality products source from both the UK and Italy, using freshly handmade dough and a 400-degree fire oven, not only is the pizza authentic Italian, but it’s also super-fast and ready in around 180 seconds!
With both soap stars hugely into their health, fitness and general wellbeing, they were beyond excited to get involved with Fireaway after both living locally and being huge fans of the takeaway pizza venue.
Faye said: “Fireaway Pizza is a cut above the rest! I had so much fun creating my own pizza from scratch - it was an amazing experience and I’m extremely passionate about keeping fit and healthy and making sure I eat the right foods, so it’s nice to know there’s a takeaway option out there that doesn’t have to be naughty food!
"Also, the pizza chefs on site chose my pizza as the winner - I might be biased but it was delicious and even Joe thought so too as I took some home for him.”
Jazmine added: “What an experience. My pizza looked like a child had made it compared to Faye’s, but it was so much fun and a lot tastier than it looked! How can you not indulge in a pizza from Fireaway knowing it’s not full off all the usual rubbish takeaway food is notorious for! I guess Corrie wins this battle!”
Fireaway Pizza Bury is located at 27 Bolton Road, Bury, BL8 2AB with sister sites also open in other local towns across Greater Manchester including Rochdale, West Houghton, Fallowfield and Northenden with further plans to open more in the coming months.
