A PAIR of Bolton men have spoken of their success after their refurbishment firm expanded across the North West.

Silverglide Limited was started in April, 2008 by Rick Cleworth and Tony Judge who both have over 30 years of experience.

Their company has just completed the refurbishment of The Wheatsheaf in Westhoughton.

While Bolton is their official base, their services are now available on a national basis with previous clients such as Wetherspoons and Pizza Express.

Despite covering a wide geographical area they still claim to be ‘large enough to cope and yet small enough to care’.

Mr Judge explained: “We pride ourselves on the banner that we have below our name which is ‘quality and commitment’ and that is something we hold dear to the company ethos and always strive to deliver.”

The firm offers a range of construction, building and maintenance services across establishments such as bars, restaurants, shops, offices and residential spaces.

Some of their most successful ventures have been with transforming Hogarths pubs into modern, stylish gin bars. The bars can be found in Leicester and Bolton — where the refurbishment cost £500,000 and involved 35 Bolton workers.

Another impressive achievement is the new re-model of an Italian restaurant, Luciano's at The Millstone in Horwich whose grand opening was presided over by the Mayor of Bolton.

Mr Cleworth said he enjoys seeing employees develop their skills while working at the company.

He said: “Even in terms of employment, we have had employees in the past who have planned to work temporarily but they have gone on to stay for five years or more – to see people evolve here into a steady part of the team is fantastic – and that includes the apprenticeship schemes that we have too.”

The pair even boast collaborations with award-winning architectural and interior design practice Innex Design Ltd.
