AN award winning folk duo are heading to Bury this spring.

Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman will bring their original and captivating sound to The Met on March 24, as part of a 24 date UK tour.

The Dartmoor-based husband and wife, who have twice been names Best Duo at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards released their fifth studio album Personae on March 9.

The ten-track collection of moving and magical soundscapes will join traditional arrangements and self-penned songs, as attendees can expect stories of knights, grizzly murder, giants and even an ancient tortoise, in an entertaining and varied evening of music and song.

They will be supported by young, Stourbridge-born folk and blues performer Sunjay, who was a finalist in the Young Folk category of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2012, and has been nominated for multiple further titles.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets priced £16 are available on 01617612216 or at https://themet.org.uk/event/kathryn-roberts-and-sean-lakeman-2/
