THE RAIN certainly did not put a dampener on the first ever Crownsfest at the The Old Three Crowns.

Nine bands played across two days in a battle of the bands style competition.

The winner of both days took home a cash prize.

Hard rock four-piece Unknown Refuge took the title on Saturday.

On Sunday, Conixi were crowned the winners.

On the Saturday, the bands played in the car park but bad weather forced the acts inside early on Sunday. However in the afternoon, it cleared up and it was moved to the beer garden, albeit under the gazebo.

Landlady and event organiser Natalie Cardwell said: “It’s gone really well. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant.

“I’m happy with how it’s turned out, from a brain storm on a piece of paper to what it’s become, I’m really proud of what’s happened with it.”
