IAN Brown is to play a huge homecoming show to 25,000 revellers when he headlines Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington on Saturday, May 23.

It will be the Stone Roses frontman's first major solo headline performance in almost a decade.

He is coming back to the stage after releasing his self-produced top five album, Ripples, earlier this year. The announcement also marks four years since the Stone Roses took over Manchester’s Etihad Stadium for four nights.

Catfish And The Bottlemen will be headlining the second day of the festival held over three stages.

The indie giants will be closing Neighbourhood Weekender on Sunday, May 24, following a major sold-out arena tour, global festival appearances and new album The Balance.

Other main artists on the line-up include Sam Fender, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, Shed Seven, Miles Kane, The Coral, Tom Walker, Sundara Karma, Reverend and the Makers and Pale Waves.

Bury Times:

The first wave of artists also includes Sea Girls, Fickle Friends and The Orielles while organisers have promised the festival will be 'the place to find the best new indie acts' with the likes of The Murder Capital, Inhaler, Sports Team, The Lathums and Working Men’s Club added to the bill after making waves in recent months.
