On the morning of the 22nd March bright and early, Mr Aldred and Mr Friend took our winning team of business entrepreneurs from the Year 10 LionHeart Challenge Day to GMP Headquarters in Manchester to compete against 20 other schools from the region in the hope of winning and going to London for the National finals.
The teams had to produce an app for SMART phones for young people to be connected to the Police. This included design, marketing, costings and a presentation. All of our team were given a specific task and were mentored and coached throughout the day by business experts who commented on how professional our team was.
Although we did not win the overall prize, our learners were a real credit to the school. They worked brilliantly as a team and produced a wonderful product idea. We did win the category of ‘best product for end user’ and received a sleek, glass trophy for the school to keep. The team members from Year 10 were;
Brandon Andrew, Alisha Ayyaz, Badr Elfituri, Megan Moore, Rhianne Ritchie, Robert Mullane, Anthony Sims, Connor Thompson, Josie Quinn and Lydia White. Well done! Mr Aldred
