A BED and breakfast received top marks on a show designed to inspire other B&B owners to be the best.

Stephanie Bullen’s business at Meadowcroft Farm in Edgworth was showcased during the Channel 5 show To B&B The Best.

The show highlights how B&B owners have made a success of their business, and offers advice to those who are struggling and in search of inspiration.

Mrs Bullen’s site was selected for the show, with presenter Lisa Holloway, a B&B owner herself, touring around the house with another B&B owner to give ideas and direction.

Ms Holloway complimented Mrs Bullen on her work at Meadowcroft Farm, singling out details such as including guides of attractions and places of interest in the local area, as well as offering guests a cup of tea and a bit to eat on arrival.

She added that Meadowcroft Farm has the “wow factor”, and an “air of luxury”.

During the show, Mrs Bullen explained how she tried to advertise the business through word of mouth and social media in a bid to diversify the appeal.

She said that since the TV show aired, the business has had a spike in interest and more bookings on the back of the appearance.

Mrs Bullen opened her business in April 2013, just months after the birth of her second child. It has since been awarded a five star rating by Visit England, and is one of the top rated premises for miles around.
