BOSSES at the Bolton branch of Pizza Hut hope a £350,000 makeover will encourage diners to take a slice of the action.

The restaurant, at Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park, has undergone a transformation as part of the company's national drive to redesign its premises and unveil a new menu.

The firm has also announced plans to take on more staff in the coming months.

The newly redesigned restaurant includes a cocktail bar and drinks menu, with staff being educated on the "history and theatre" of cocktail making.

Staff have been trained how to prepare cocktails including mojitos and margaritas.

Pizza Hut says its regular offerings including the ice cream factory, salad station and buffet will remain but will form part of a "central preparation station" offering a range of desserts and a self-service drinks machine.

Megan Roberts, manager of the Middlebrook restaurant, said: "We can’t wait to show off our amazing Hut, the transformation is massive. We’ve worked really hard on this new look, there’s cool wall art and we’ve even got our very own cocktail bar.

"As well as pizza, our new menu has loads of new additions, like Kentucky Style BBQ Ribs and warm cookie dough. We’re excited for our guests to come and enjoy the new atmosphere as much as we do.”

Scott Hibbert, a member of staff, added: "I’m really enjoying the new design, it looks great! I’m looking forward to the guests getting to sample our new menu — the Ultimate Thin pizza is definitely my favourite."

The firm says the redesigned restaurant provides a more open and inviting dining space for customers, showcasing fresh food and modern atmosphere.

Pizza Hut has spent £60 million across the country refurbishing restaurants and restructuring the business.
