A MAN accused of exposing himself in a Bolton takeaway has been cleared by a jury.
Mark Southern, aged 44, was on trial at Bolton Crown Court, but a jury took about 90 minutes to find him not guilty of the single charge of exposure.
Police were called to Chic Chic Chicken, in Queensgate, to reports that a man had exposed his genitals in front of customers.
Mr Southern was arrested, and denied the offence during questioning by police following the incident, on January 29.
During the trial, the court heard that the owner of the takeaway, Michelle Yasar, called police after hearing a customer say: "What are you doing".
She gave evidence and claimed that Mr Southern had exposed himself in front of her children.
But Mr Southern, of Shrewsbury Road, Heaton, told the court he did not expose himself, but said that his fly was accidentally open as he had recently been to the toilet.
