CORONATION Street star Antony Cotton was in his home town to open newly refurbished offices in Bury.

Employment Solutions Bury reopened its newly refurbished and branded offices with the help of special guest Mr Cotton.

He joined clients, friends and suppliers of the business when he officially cut the ribbon at The Old Courthouse in Tenterden Street.

Mr Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in Coronation Street, took time out of his busy filming schedule to open the new offices.

Bosses at the recruitment company, which offers a range of jobs in the manufacturing and engineering sectors, presented Mr Cotton with a £250 cheque for charity Help For Heroes.

He said: “I’m a Bury boy, born and bred, so it’s always a pleasure to be back in my hometown.

“My parents still live here, and I remember this place being the Old Courthouse, which was a place you never wanted to be.

“So it’s nice for it to have evolved and had a new lease of life. Plus it is always good to support local business. On top of that, I’m an ambassador for Help For Heroes, and Employment Solutions has kindly given me a cheque for me to send to them, so it’s a win-win situation and a pleasure to be here.”

The offices have undergone a major transformation to accommodate an expanding team. They now have more space, dedicated team areas and social spaces for staff.

Carolyn Frodsham, managing director, said: “The office wasn’t fit for purpose, it wasn’t fit for the talent we wanted to bring into the business. We wanted to build an office to engage with the best talent in our market and it’s important to us to show our clients what we do on a daily basis. Employment Solutions’ future is very exciting.”

Neil Davies, co-founder and director said: “We’re now looking at expanding into new markets within our core areas of engineering and manufacturing. We are looking for exceptional people to join our team.”
