DAISY Hill retained their spot at the top of the Bolton Association table with a win at Tonge.

Professional Tilaksha Malshan carried his bat for the duration of the Tonge innings, scoring 34 not out.

However, Neil Tong bowled a five-wicket haul and Adnan Raees took three victims as the hosts were dismissed for 93.

Raees then knocked 40 when he turned his hand to the bat, before skipper Steve Chilton added 22 to wrap up a comfortable five-wicket win.

Daisy captain Chilton was delighted his side were able to stay at the top of the pile as the season approaches the home stretch.

“Adnan proved his class with both the bat and the ball on a difficult wicket,” Chilton said.

“He helped us to break the curse, so to speak, of whoever goes top of the league then losing the next game

”We are still not looking at the end result. We are just taking it one game at a time.”

De Zoysa’s knock of 102no steered his side to a total of 181-6. Daniel Cook (33) also scored high.

Asim Bhatti hit an unbeaten 24 as he opened the second innings with the bat, but the bowling of Matthew Readey (5-39) and Waseem Hassan (4-7) had Little Hulton skittled out for 78.
