A FIRE started in a kitchen when a hob was turned on accidentally.
Fire crews were called to Bond Street, Bury, at around 4.30pm today.
A ceramic hob had been turned on by mistake and had started to melt a toaster that had been left on top of it.
The fire was discovered by the occupants of the house before it could really take hold.
There was smoke damage to the house and firefighters were on the scene for around 30 minutes.
