IT was a mixed night for Bury's Gemma Atkinson as she found herself in the middle of the Strictly leaderboard.

The former Emmerdale star performed a Viennese Waltz to You Don't Have to say You Love Me by Brenda Lee with partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

The pair received a score of 28 after getting a seven off all the judges, a result that put her in fifth out of the nine remaining couples.

There was praise for the natural turns but criticism for too much rise and fall during the performance and a call for more emotion.

It was an important night for all the couples as next week is Blackpool, one of the biggest nights of each year's competition.

Top of the leaderboard was Davood Ghadami who was given a score of 38 by the judges while Ruth Langsford was bottom with a score of just 18.

Fans will find out if Gemma made it to Blackpool during Sunday night's result show on BBC One at 7.20pm.
