ADVICE on bin collections in the next few days has been issued by the council after the 'unprecedented' weather.

Bury Council has advised that grey, green and blue bins which were missed last week should be put out again from 7am tomorrow (March 6) and collection crews will be out emptying missed bins throughout this week.

Brown bins will be emptied from next week on the next scheduled collection date.

Collections scheduled for this week will be taking place on the usual day.

Cllr Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, said: “The weather conditions last week were unprecedented and the subsequent delays caused to bin collections unavoidable.

"We have a plan to catch-up and our crews will be out all this week doing everything they can to get the service back on track for the people of Bury.

"Last week we had no choice but to suspend the service as a duty of care to our workforce and we ask residents for their patience while we do everything possible to return the service to normal."
