A MOBILE restaurant delivery service has moved in to Prestwich.

Uber Eats is launching a new service in the town from lunchtime today, with deliveries also crossing in to areas of Whitefield.

The app and website operates similarly to Uber's taxi service, allowing customers to order food from nearby restaurants, and is currently partnered with over 250 outlets around the region.

The new service is part of a Greater Manchester-wide expansion — the largest since the app launched in Manchester last February.

A £2.50 delivery charge is added to each meal, however there is no minimum order value and the service is available from 7am to 12am, seven days a week.

Daniel Calvert, head of launch and expansion for Uber Eats UK said: "We have been blown away with how popular the app has been in the city, so we’re really excited to be expanding further into Greater Manchester.

"People can now get great food at the touch of a button delivered straight to their home or office. We have partnered with over 250 restaurants, so we hope there will be something for everyone’s tastes."
