TWO amateur runners who will be pounding the streets of London in a bid to raise money for charity are holding a fundraising night ahead of their big day.

Jacqueline Del Pistoia and Louise Shield began running for fun three years ago at Bury Athletics Club and have since completed dozens of races around the country.

They have now turned their attentions to the London Marathon, which they will compete in on April 22.

The duo will be running and hosting a charity evening at the Dungeon Inn in Tottington on April 13 to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

And they are now appealing for donations which can be used as prizes in the raffle at the fundraising event.

All offers of donations can be made to Jacqueline on 07816 340 822.

Jacqueline’s employers, Circle Leasing, whose office is on the site of the former Lancashire Fusiliers barracks, in Bolton Road, will also be collecting bags of items which could be sold in Cancer Research UK charity shops on April 13.

Possibles donations include men’s, women’s or children’s clothing or accessories, homeware, linens, books, CDs, DVDs, mobile phones, used printer cartridges or electrical equipment.
