A DOG-LOVER from Bury is being put through his paces by an energetic homeless hound to help him prepare for the Great Manchester Run.
Simon Moody, a Canine Carer and Trainer at Dogs Trust Manchester, is hoping 21-month-old crossbreed Hank will have raced off to his forever home by the time he takes to the streets for the iconic 10k run.
In the meantime, the pair are training together in the hope that Simon will raise hundreds of pounds for the Dogs Trust charity.
Mr Moody said: “Hank is certainly helping me get fit and he has made training much more enjoyable!
“This is my very first 10k but he’s a brilliant motivator. He is a big, strong boy who loves to be on the go and its fantastic fun exercising with him for company!
“He is really active, so we are looking for a similarly energetic family for him who love being out and about as much as he does. It would be fantastic if he had found his ideal running partner by the time race day arrives.”
Hank enjoys lots of walks and exercise sessions and loves other dogs and people. He can live with children aged 16 years and over who are comfortable around bigger dogs.
The Great Manchester Run takes place on Sunday, May 20. To donate to Simon’s fundraising page visit justgiving.com/fundraising/simon-moody4
