A RAMSBOTTOM family have been left outraged after a memorial bush to their father was ‘stolen’.

Rob Gordon was 44 years old when he died after a battle with cancer in 2014, and his three children subsequently scattered his ashes under a pieris plant close to the Millennium Bench on Holcombe Hill.

However, the plant disappeared last weekend and the family believe it has been stolen.

An appeal from a family friend posted on Facebook this week read: “To whoever took Rob Gordon's plant from Holcombe hill, I will give you the benefit of doubt that you didn’t realise that Rob's ashes were scattered there.

“The family are obviously upset that his memorial has been stolen, if it can be returned anonymously that would be the end of it. Thank you. Please share.”
