A DRINK driver has been banned from holding a driving licence for 20 months.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Tina Matthews, aged 58, of Lynmouth Court, Prestwich, pleaded guilty to driving a Skoda Fabia on Bury New Road on April 29 after drinking more than double the legal level of alcohol.

She was also fined £163 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

nA MAN has been bound over in the sum of £100 to keep the peace for six months.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Awais Haq, aged 23, of Kingsbury Close, Bury, admitted causing a breach of the peace on May 24.

nASSAULTING a male in Bury on June 28 has resulted in Cameron Sharp, aged 27, of Duke Street, Radcliffe, being sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months by Manchester magistrates.

Sharp had denied committing the offence, but was found guilty after a trial and ordered to pay £950 in costs and charges.

nMAGISTRATES have fined a motorist £660 after he drove without insurance.

Bartlomiej Slupski, aged 23, of Dumers Chase, Radcliffe, was caught driving a Renault Megane on Knowsley Street, Bury, on January 20.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £66 victim surcharge.

nA DRIVER has been fined £120 and had four points added to his licence after pleading guilty to failing to stop for police and failing to take a roadside breath test.

Robert Tillson, aged 29, of Hardman Close, Radcliffe, committed the offences while driving a Ford Focus in Coronation Gardens, Bury, on April 20.

He was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

nA THIEF has been jailed for 16 weeks after committing a series of offences in Bury and Radcliffe on May 21 and 22.

Anthony Harris, aged 29, of no fixed address, appeared before Manchester magistrates and pleaded guilty to

stealing a wallet and bank cards, three electric

toothbrushes worth £140 from Superdrug in The Rock and fraudulently using stolen debit cards.

He was also ordered to pay £163 in compensation.

nJUNAID Iqbal, aged 22, of Cuckoo Lane, Prestwich, has been fined £100 for being drunk and disorderly in Bury on April 28.

He was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and and charges.

nA WOMAN who wrongly used a disabled person’s blue parking badge has been fined £85 by Manchester

magistrates.

Christina Currie, of Lowercroft Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in Bury on November 8. She was also ordered to pay £280 costs.
