STUDENTS at Bury College took to the stage to mark their achievements as part of the University Centre Graduation Ceremony.

The class of 2018 were honoured at The Met in Bury on Wednesday.

Proud staff, tutors, families, friends and supporters celebrated the success of the graduates as they now look forward to the next stage of their careers.

A parade took place from Bury College Enterprise Centre to The Met at 10.30am and another one at 2.30pm to mark the occasion.

Students received certificates in health care, sports science and coaching, beauty management, working with children and families, and other subjects.

Celebrating achieving a First Class Honours Degree in BA Hons Hairdressing Management was Holly Shadwell, aged 27 from Whitworth.

Ms Shadwell, who has recently opened her own salon, said: “I am very proud of myself and my achievement and it was great that I was able to celebrate at a graduation ceremony with my family. I have loved every minute of my time at Bury College University Centre."

The University Centre offers both full-time and part-time qualifications in partnership with the University of Bolton, University of Cumbria and Pearson.
