A COMMUNITY group has yet again fallen victim to theft after another of their hand-grown, self-funded flower displays was stolen.

In another blow for Radcliffe's Corrie Gardeners group, two of their hanging baskets were pinched from outside the Community Integration Hub.

The site in Westminster Avenue is used by the police as well as other groups.

Only three weeks ago, several large planters were dug up and taken from outside Coronation Road Community Centre and Library.

Corrie Gardeners, who work to improve community life for tenants and residents in Coronation Gardens and Coronation Road, had planted the evergreen cordyline australis 'Red Star' ahead of The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) It's Your Neighbourhood awards.

Group lead Tina Harrison said: "This really upsets our group because everyone has helped water and look after the flowers.

"We were asked to plant these hanging baskets to brighten up the area. Everyone who passed complimented them. They are missed by people in the community.

"The police are aware because they use the hub too. We are checking CCTV."

It is understood the flowers were stolen between 8 and 9pm on Friday, July 27.
