DOZENS of people gathered together to celebrate 10 years of playing Rugby League in Bury.

A charity fun day was held on Saturday as Bury Broncos RLFC marked its 10-year anniversary at Philips High School.

Several games of rugby were enjoyed, with Leigh Miners Rangers girls team starting off the day with a great display of skill.

The 'old boys' then took centre stage, playing against Bury RUFC, before the current Bury Broncos team took on Newton Storm ARLFC.

The event helped raise more than £1,000 which will be shared between Prostrate Cancer UK and the Oddballs Foundation, who each had stalls on the day.

Andy Mazey, chairman of Swinton Lions RLFC, also presented the Under 15s team with their new shirts, which bear the logos of the two charities, and have been purchased thanks to generous donations.
