YOUNG golfer Jack Bryan will be trying to reign in Spain after winning through to the final of a European competition.
The Bolton Old Links player earned a place in the 26th European Junior Open by winning a qualifying round at Reddish Vale Golf Club.
The two-handicapper, who is a regular member of the Lancashire Boys team, posted a gross round of 74 which included two lost balls.
He beat Abergele Golf Club’s Lea-Anne Bramwell, who had a gross score of 84, and Reddish Vale’s Daniel Myers, who hit a gross 87.
They will both join the Bolton winner at the European Open at Alcaidesa Golf Club in Southern Spain over the Heathland and Links courses later in the year.
The event is open to junior under-17s boys and u16s girls and the final will feature more than 100 boys and around 40 girls in action and shown on Sky Sports' golf channels.
Previous finalists have included Luke Donald and Justin Rose.
The competition has qualifying rounds at 32 venues in the United Kingdom and in Europe.
