SAINSBURY’S is recalling its in-store bakery all butter croissants which may contain almond filling that is not declared on the packaging.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts.

The products affected are in store bakery all butter croissants that are sold individually or packs of two.

The company is asking customers who have purchased these products and have an allergy or intolerance to almond to return them to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.

There are Sainsbury's stores located in Heaton Park and a Sainsbury's Local in Prestwich.

All best before codes up to and including September 26 may be affected and will be recalled.

No other Sainsbury’s products are known to be affected.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers to explain why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

Sainsbury's apologised for the inconvenience this may cause.
