FIREFIGHTERS stopped a burning car from rolling down a hill this morning.
Crews were called to Maria Street, in Halliwell, shortly after 3.30am, and discovered a black Audi A3 engulfed in flames.
The fire had burnt through the vehicle's handbrake cable, and was at risk of rolling down a hill.
However, a crew from Bolton Central Fire Station tackled the blaze and worked to secure the car.
They were at the scene for 50 minutes.
Police also attended the scene and have contacted the vehicle's owner.
Crew manager Andrew Kopicki said: "We turned up and put the fire out and made the vehicle secure.
"The fire was that severe that it burnt though the handbrake cable, which made the vehicle unsecure as it was on a hill.
"We had to stop it rolling down."
