RESIDENTS are being invited to expand their internet skills at two digital skills drop-in sessions.

The free sessions have been organised as part of Get Online Week, which runs from October 15 to 21.

The first drop-in will take place at Bury Library from 10am to 12pm on October 15, and the second at Prestwich Library from 10am to 12pm on October 18.

At the sessions people will have the chance to get to grips with a variety of internet uses including online shopping, online banking booking a doctors appointment, ordering prescriptions and more.

Michael O’Callaghan, digital and inclusion officer for Bury Libraries said: “Whether you’re brand-new to the internet, or you just want a bit of help doing more online, Get Online Week is here to help you take your next step.

“Using the internet can help save money, save time, and make life easier and even more fun.

"But if you’re not confident using a computer, tablet or smartphone, or you’ve heard about some of the dangers of being online, it can be difficult to take that next step. That’s where these free Get Online Week drop-in sessions can really help.”
