PUPILS at a Bury primary school have offered a helping hand to a charity helping people in need across the borough.
Nine children and two members of staff from Lowercroft Primary School visited Porch Boxes on Wednesday, October 3, to help the charity organise donations.
The youngsters met volunteers, helped to sort jars and cans, as well as putting together emergency packs of food to help people in crisis.
The Ashington Drive school will also hold a collection at the school, where parents will be asked to send in non-perishable food, baby supplies and toiletries.
The donations will support Porch Boxes' work in supporting families and individuals in urgent need.
The charity is staffed entirely by volunteers, and delivers around a hundred “crisis packs” of food every week.
