A MET Office weather warning is in place as Storm Callum batters the North West with strong winds and rain today.
The storm is expected to bring a spell of heavy and persistent rain throughout today, with the potential for flooding.
Forecasters have issued the yellow warning from 5am to midnight.
They say that some 'delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely', as well as for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.
Spray and flooding is also likely to lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
In some cases 'short term loss of power and other services is possible.'
