A MAN was taken to hospital after being hit on the head with a wrench during a street fight.
Police were called to Garnett Street, in Ramsbottom, at about 12.25pm yesterday to reports of two men fighting in the street.
One man in his mid 50s suffered a large gash to his head, which will require stitching, say police.
The road was taped off following the incident, and pictures posted on social media yesterday afternoon showed a police car and an ambulance parked up on the street.
It has since reopened.
No arrests have been made and police enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to Garnett Street at about 12.45pm to reports that two males were fighting.
"One of them suffered cuts to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment."
