A POIGNANT moment of commemoration is to be held in a Bury park this Saturday to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
The Armistice event will take place at Clarence Park Lido with a minute's silence at noon, followed by the Last Post played by a member of Besses Boy's Band.
Pupils from St John With St Mark CofE Primary School will then sing two songs chosen for the occasion.
Residents are being invited to attend from 11.45am and stand in solidarity with 10 silhouettes positioned on benches around the lido. Poppies and tributes may also be left by the silhouettes and war memorial at the Jubilee Centre.
