NURSERY tots and toddlers had a visit from two VIP guests – and all the excitement was captured by BBC cameras.

The youngsters at Holcombe Brook Methodist Pre-School were delighted to welcome CBeebies star Duggee the dog and Pudsey Bear.

The stars spent Monday at the Bolton Road West Nursery after it won a competition.

Manager Tracy Lowe said: “Every year we register for the Children In Need activity pack and because of that we were selected at random to win the prize visit.

The children – aged two to four – were highly excited to join Duggee in dancing, drawing and singing nursery rhymes. And there was hugs galore.

Due to some last minute problems, Pudsey’s afternoon visit was delayed, but he more than made up for it and added to the fun by bringing along his new book, Pudsey’s Great Fundraiser, and a storyteller

The youngsters were transfixed to hear the inspiring tale story of kindness and determination, and how Pudsey’s positive attitude helped him to stumble across his best idea yet.

Much to the delight of the toddlers, Pudsey’s added to the entertainment by acting out the story.

Mrs Lowe said: “The children absolutely loved it, it was such an exciting day for them. They were in awe of Duggee and Pudsey.”

The nursery has been supporting Children in Need for more than ten years and tomorrow the children and staff will don Pudsey t-shirts and onesies to raise more money for the charity.
