VETERANS of the North West folk scene, The Houghton Weavers are coming to Prestwich for a Christmas show.
The four-piece have been performing for more than 40 years, recording more than 30 albums in the process, including songs such as ‘The Blackpool Belle’.
Lead singer Tony Berry said: “We love this time of year because it gives us the chance to meet our fans and get everyone ready for the Christmas fun.
“And what better place than Prestwich where people really know how to have a good time!”
Their setlist will include their own festive favourites like ‘Bless Your Whiskers’, ‘Father Christmas’ and ‘What’s Christmas Without A Brass Band’, along with traditional songs like ‘Mary’s Boy Child.’
Tony added: “We always aim to bring a smile to everyone’s face with our concerts – add to that the magic of Christmas and you really do have a special night out.”
The concert is in the Longfield Suite on Thursday December 13.
