ONE man was injured when a BMW M6 collided with a lorry.
The two vehicles crashed at the junction of Hornby Street and Birch Street at around 7.50pm on Friday night.
Firefighters were called to the scene at that time where the driver of the BMW had managed to get himself out of the car but had collapsed nearby.
The car and lorry were on fire when the fire service arrived at the scene and it took them around an hour to put it out and make the area safe.
The crew manager described it as "very serious".
The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
