A MOTORCYCLIST was arrested overnight for theft of a vehicle.
Traffic officers pursued a driver on a scooter through the streets of Breightmet until "the rider gave up" in Long Lane shortly after 3am this morning.
Greater Manchester Police found the scooter to be reported stolen from Horwich on November 9.
They tweeted: "The scooter's power didn't really match up to 330 police traffic car so the rider just gave up in Long Lane, Breightmet.
"A man was arrested for TOMV (theft of a motor vehicle) and taken into custody for questioning.
"The vehicle was recovered to be reunited with its owner."
