CHRISTMAS can sometimes get a little messy. And that was certainly true down at Queen's Park Cafe yesterday.

Dozens of tiny tots and their parents enjoyed the Mess Around Christmas Party, which featured more than 13 messy festive activities for little one's to enjoy.

Among the activities were colourful reindeer dust, brussel sprout rolling and candy cane rice, as well as festive treats such as Santa goo and Christmas pud and Christmas songs to dance to.

Event organiser and owner of Messy Manchester, Zoe Fairman, who was enjoying the messy fun with her children two-year-old Spencer and three-year-old Finley, and partner Thomas Dudley, said: "This is our first Christmas party and it's a nice way to get the festivities started.

"I have enjoyed planning for it and getting everything ready, and I'm also here with my partner and children, so it's a real family thing.

"They have been really excited to come because they can get really messy and play with their friends."

Among those enjoying the mess was one-year-old Darcie Kelley happily dancing to festive tunes with mum Lyndsey.

Ms Kelley said: "We come to Messy Manchester events every month, its brilliant and Darcie absolutely loves getting messy.

"We have come since she was six months old so she's really familiar with everything and we love the Christmas theme."

Also having a whale of a time was one-year-old Luke Leatherbarrow, who was at the party with mum Emma and grandma Margaret Aldcroft.

Ms Leatherbarrow said: "I found out about Messy Manchester on social media and this is the second one we have been to.

"We have been having loads of fun and love everything about it."
