A BURGLAR has been jailed for 24 weeks after admitting stealing electrical items, worth a total of £935, from Tiddlywinks Nursery in Bury.

Manchester magistrates head how there were people in the building at the time and Andrew Hutchinson, aged 39, of no fixed address, was on licence for other offences.

He was ordered to pay the nursery £1,256 in compensation.

nA MAN who damaged a Radcliffe pub window has been ordered to pay £150 in compensation.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Reece Love, aged 29, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on November 18 at the Royal Oak pub on Water Street.

nA WOMAN who was caught driving whilst using a hand held mobile phone and was twice caught sing a car without insurance has been banned from the roads for 12 months.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Simone Parr, aged 27, of Gale Road, Prestwich, pleaded guilty to using the phone while driving a VW Golf in Bury New Road, Prestwich on July 11.

She also admitted driving the vehicle without insurance on July 11, and again on October 7.

Parr was fined £710 and ordered to pay £156 in costs and charges.

nA MAN who took a loaded BB gun to The Village Hotel in Bury has been jailed for 22 weeks by Manchester magistrates.

Michael Hill, aged 30, of Vernon Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on July 12.

He also admitted having the loaded air weapon in Bury shopping centre the day before, using threatening behaviour and resisting a police officer.

Hill had initially denied the offences but then changed his plea to guilty.

He was ordered to pay an £115 victim surcharge and the gun was confiscated and destroyed.

nMAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour towards a woman in Bury on November 26.

Ryan Franks, aged 29, of Harwood Road, Tottington, was also ordered to pay £105 in costs and charges.

nA MAN has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 18 months by Manchester magistrates after admitting assaulting a police officer in Bury on July 2.

Dean Devaney, aged 34, of Preston New Road, Blackburn, initially denied committing the offence but changed his plea to guilty.

The court ordered Devaney to pay £320 in costs and charges.

nMAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do unpaid work for 40 hours after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Bury on November 18.

Jordan Walsh, aged 20, of no fixed address, threatening a woman that he would smash her house windows on November 23 and possessing cannabis on November 25.

In addition Walsh was ordered to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay ££170 in costs and charges.

The court also made a restraining order banning Walsh from contacting his victims.
