A BRAVE Bolton toddler, who is battling a brain tumour, is looking forward to spending his first full Christmas at home with his family.

Ted Waring, aged two, was just seven months old when he was diagnosed with a tumour located in the centre of his brain.

Following the diagnosis, Ted, from Bradshaw, was transferred to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for treatment, where he underwent nine operations, as well as several courses of chemotherapy.

His illness forced him to spend his first two Christmases in hospital.

But, with his treatment now complete, Ted is set to spend the full festive season at home with mum Leanne and his three older brothers.

And the youngster recently visited London to star in Morrisons’ Christmas advert, which features eleven children affected by cancer sharing what they love about Christmas day, including presents, turkey dinner, and spending time with their loved ones.

The film, which was produced alongside the supermarket’s charity partner CLIC Sargent, aims to raise awareness of how children with cancer are sometimes separated from their families during the festive period.

The youngest child in the video is Ted, who has received support from CLIC Sargent.

Mum Leanne said that the youngster loved visiting London to take part in the filming along with his brothers Leo, aged 12, Zakori, aged 10 and Joe, aged nine.

“Ted quite likes having his picture taken and now he thinks he’s a celebrity!” she said.

“Ted is now off chemo and this will be the first Christmas he will spend the whole time at home, so he’s really enjoying putting up the decorations and getting ready for it.

“They make things as lovely as possible for children in hospital but it will be very special for us to have Ted at home for Christmas.”

The advert, which features children aged from two to 12 years old from across the country, can be watched on Morrisons’ Facebook page or at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd7sWIAbPgw.
