THE Rock Shopping Centre is calling on creative youngsters to put their skills to the test by helping design its first mascot.

The shopping and leisure destination has launched a competition in a bid to reach out to schoolchildren across the borough for their best designs.

Once youngsters have drawn up their mascot, they are then encouraged to come up with a suitable name for them.

The ‘Design The Rock’s Mascot’ competition, which is open to children aged between 4 and 11 years old, will run until Friday, February 8.

Once the entries have been submitted, The Rock team will then judge them all before picking a winner.

The winning entrant will then see their design brought to life and the mascot will represent The Rock at future events.

There will also be a prize presented to the winning child.

The Rock’s centre director, Arnold Wilcox-Wood, said: “We’re really excited to launch this competition and we can’t wait for all the entries to come in.

“This is a great and fun opportunity for children, schools and clubs to get involved with so we’d encourage you to head to our website now and download the entry form.

“We’ve teamed up with a great company to create the mascot and of course our aim is to get it as close to the winning design as possible. Have fun!”

To enter the competition, visit www.therockbury.com and download the entry form, then let the kids get creative by using the silhouette to draw the mascot.
