POLICE talked down a person who was threatening to jump from a bridge.
They were called to the bridge in the Heaton area of Bolton on Wednesday evening following concerns for the person's welfare.
Officers say they arrived to find the person feeling 'depressed and suicidal', while standing on the wrong side of the bridge, threatening to jump.
After starting negotiations, they managed to talk them down from the bridge.
Officers say the person then went on to 'receive the appropriate medical treatment'.
They added: "Please remember that there are services out there who can assist with Mental Wellbeing including other medical practitioners."
