The family favourite pantomime opens at the Victoria Hall this weekend.

Brought to the stage by the Victoria Hall Amateur Dramatic Society, the production promises fun, mayhem and good old fashioned fun.The production also features a chorus of 12 children, some of whom are making their stage debut.

This weekend sees the beginning of the calendar of events at the Albert Halls.

70s rockers Showaddywaddy are the first to grace the stage, performing their live and dynamic show, featuring their hits including Blue Moon and Pretty Little Angel Eyes on Saturday night.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets can be bought from alberthalls-bolton.co.uk online and cost £24 each.

Toys, models and figures of the past will be on display at the Toy Collectors Fair.

Held at the University of Bolton Stadium on Sunday, the show will allow enthusiasts to view rare collectables, with many vintage items on offer.

Items can go on sale for as little as £1-£2, but rise up to hundreds for particularly rare models.

The fair will start at 10.30am in the stadium’s Premier Suite and is set to run until 3pm. Prices are £4 for adults, £3.50 for seniors and £1 for children, with under-five’s going for free.
