AN action plan has been forged to help the East Lancs Paper Mill Cricket Club get back on its feet after the recent fire.

An emergency committee meeting was held on Wednesday night to discuss a way forward and prioritise the work to be done.

From 11am tomorrow, a workforce will be at the clubhouse to continue the clean-up and transfer damaged items into a skip.

In a post on Facebook, the club said that volunteer helpers would be very welcome to join the effort in the morning.

The club is also taking donations of various construction materials and other items to help them rebuild.

The team posted: "Following the committee meeting tonight we've been able to discuss the plans for the way forward and organise and prioritise jobs and ways of seeking further funding support.

"As we all know this will be a big job to get the club ready for the new season.

"Thanks to everyone for their support so far. We are still gratefully receiving donations."

They also thanked NW CCTV & Electrical Ltd for kindly donating new CCTV equipment to increase security at the site.

East Lancs Paper Mill CC has requested donations of 15mm sheets of plywood, wire fencing, an external TV aerial and small smart TV.

They also require plaster and plasterboard. For full details visit their Facebook page East Lancs Paper Mill CC.
