A PRESTWICH restaurant celebrated its first birthday in style last week as 100 handpicked guests joined them for a luxurious party.
Family run Italian restaurant Babbo, in Scholes Lane, organised the event to say a big thank you to their regular customers who were joined by industry figures, VIPs, press, bloggers; and lavished with mouthwatering food and drink.
Guests were entertained by award winning saxophone player and singer Carlo Sax, as well as a rendition of Try a Little Tenderness by waiter Brad.
The night then reached its climax as a bespoke birthday cake complete with sparklers and confetti shooter was cut, before guests journeyed home replete with a complimentary goody bag.
Formerly known as Saporito, the restaurant was founded in 2002 when the Cabrelli family decided to transform their local Italian restaurant.
The restaurant underwent a rebrand and overhaul before reopening last year under its new name — the affectionate Italian word for dad — in honour of Bruno, the father of the family.
