MOTORISTS faced major delays after an accident earlier this morning on the M60.
The crash occurred on the M60 between junction 13, for Worsley, and junction 12, for Eccles Interchange.
At one point, traffic had even backed up to junction 18 for Simister.
The knock-on effect of the accident hit drivers hard, especially those using the A666 out of Bolton, and routes through Farnworth and Kearsley and the M61 South.
Some commuters even abandoned travel plans and returned home rather than face being stuck in traffic.
